We realized the need that many individuals, businesses like small shops need e-mail addresses but not web hosting. Any business that uses a free e-mail ID is not rated highly because of general perceptions. Hence, we decided to offer e-mail services along with our web hosting services. Needless, to state the services will be world class and at the same time low cost. We have given detailed explanations because many are not familiar with the subject in developing countries. Many potential customers do not even know how to set up a POP or IMAP access or understand what it is. They depend upon their local ISPs and suppliers who charge exorbitantly. Many do not know that they need an ISP to connect to the net. Customers must realize that they cannot access the web without an ISPs gateway. ATT of USA is probably the largest in the world after the merger of Bell South with it. In India, VSNL is a main gateway provider. In Kenya, Jambonet and Telekom provide the gateways. All mobile telephone service operators provide gateways but it is very expensive. Many cybercafés in Kenya provide LAN connections through ISDN or ADSL modems to shops with a shared bandwidth of 100 Kbps on a monthly hire basis at KES 2500 per month for 24 hour access. Similar facilities are available in Uganda. In India, most ISPs offer a pre paid, dial up, service pack of specific duration to access the web apart from the above service. The ISPs generally give an e-mail box for use along with the service pack in India. The customers can decide which ID is kept primary. Alternatively, one can be kept for personal and the other for business use. However, it is always sensible to have an alternate ID instead of a single one. We use McAfee) Yes Yes Yes Mail forwarding to ID of your choice - USD 2.49 per year. We will be acting as a post office for your incoming mail and just that. This will be useful if you do not want to reveal your real ID. If you own a domain name, most registrars will provide this facility. However, this facility is for those who do not want to go in for domains but prefer to receive all mails under one single secret ID. The ID we provide will be the public one. If you want to send mail under this ID, you need to use your local ISP's SMTP facility. You cannot use our SMTP facility. To put it more simply, you can receive mail but not send mail under this ID, using our server. If you want to send mail under this ID, you need to set up your mail client for SMTP authentication with your ISP's server. SMTP means simple mail transfer protocol. Some local ISPs may not allow that, but most do. Check with your local ISP. You can sign up for any of the above plan options with the same form. We will send you a Paypal invoice for making the payment. Your ID will be: yourchoiceofname@mmguniversal.com; We will allot a temporary PWD which can be changed after logging in the first time.  Hardware Based in in a facility which has one of the best and world class internet backbone. The server is located in Atlanta, Georgia, USA with the provider based in Houston, Texas, USA. It is a Pentium server with 4 Intel microprocessors of 2 Gb processing speed. It is a virtual private server with a specific disk space, large burstable RAM and very large bandwidth hired out by us for our needs. It is a virtual private server with a dedicated disk space and large bandwidth. We can keep on upgrading as and when required. Uploading or ftp of your files will be lightning fast. The e-mails will also be sent lightning fast because the total bandwidth is shared with few others. Unlike shared hosting, we allot a specific bandwidth for each domain hosted with us, whether you use it or not. We do not oversell but you cannot exceed the allotment. However, it does not mean that your e-mails will be received by the recipient instantly, because of the complicated SMTP routing through various service providers on the web, but should be delivered in a few minutes. An e-mail from USA to India may go to Alaska, Greenland, London, Australia, Singapore, Japan before reaching your mail box on your ISPs server. In the process it may pass through even 50 ISPs. If any server is down in the line, your mail will be delayed. This is not the case with many large service providers because they have zillions of e-mails to handle in a day. Sometimes it takes hours for them to clear the backlog, though you will get a message that your e-mail, which will be in a long queue, has been sent. They are also subject to the various routing mentioned above. Most businesses and individuals will understand how nerve wrecking it can be waiting for some important e mail. The customer or client will tell you that the mail has been sent but you will keep waiting, make unnecessary phone calls, irritating the customer and lastly increasing your blood pressure or getting peptic ulcers. Many do not know that in countries where e-mails are legally acceptable to courts, it is not the time of sending the mail that is taken cognizance of. It is the time it is delivered to a mail box of the recipient. It does not matter whether one reads it or not. Hence, it is very important that e-mails of special legal significance are delivered at the earliest. You will be flooded with spam because many free service providers make your ID public. Some do third party marketing. Some even sell the IDs to data mining companies. The data mining companies compile them and sell them to public and spammers get hold of them. You can't blame any of them, except the spammers, because they have to make a living. You must remember nothing is free in this world. There is always an indirect price tag. This is the reason free service providers give you a very large disk storage capacity you will never need in your lifetime. This is like giving you a place to live knowing fully well that you will never move in. They will also give a junk mail box. This is similar to rocking the cradle after pinching the baby.  We never reveal the e-mail IDs of clients, customers and people in our mailing lists. Spammers send mail to our mailing list IDs obtained through fraudulent means because it can also be used as a newsgroup. We get flooded everyday from our own server because we cannot filter our own IDs. However, not a single spam can ever go through because the list administrator and moderator are very senior people and know when and to whom our mails are sent. We do not even allow our own list members to post messages to the list. If they do, we terminate the membership immediately. Spams are automatically discarded after 24 hours. We have an absolute zero tolerance policy on spam. One of the highest uptime guarantees in the business - 99.998%. Acts of God and Mother Nature excluded. We do not want to bore you with too many technical details and jargon. We draw up very stringent specifications. We do not compromise on vendor selection. You can be rest assured that it will be world class and comparable with the best in the world. We are always in the process of up gradation, improvement and try to offer the best combination of hardware and software. In this process, some features might be added and some may be no longer available. It must be noted that we reserve the rights to change the features and specifications of the packages offered. They will be always superior to existing ones. Important points to be noted: We will set up the mail boxes for the customer on our remote server. The ID will be you@mmguniversal.com. If you have your own registered domain name, we can provide the e-mail box for your domain on our server. You can always go in for web hosting as and when required. However, if you are not for listing your business on the web, we do not recommend going in for registration of a domain, as it is an unnecessary recurring expenditure to register a domain and retain it.  Reselling is not allowed. Our service is restricted to offering the service and its technical support. The mail box can be accessed on the web by POP 3 settings through mail clients like Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora, Netscape, Opera, Thunderbird etc., Kindly note setting up your computer for POP access is your responsibility. We cannot do it sitting in another far off place. We will give you the instructions for setting it up. Any one familiar with such things will set it up for you. Please note that you can access your mail box from anywhere on the web like you access Yahoo or MSN Hot Mail. Any spam reported from the customers account will entail suspension of the account immediately after investigations from our end. We will make sure that the customers are not victims to spammers. Our decision in the matter is final. Repeat, we have an absolute zero tolerance policy on spam. We cannot stop the spam menace, but will not allow it on our server. Some spammers have already started using our false ID. This is the best complement we can get, though not welcome. Please check the IP address. Please visit our spammerslist page to know the steps we take to fight spam. The customers must observe all US Laws that are applicable as the server is based in USA. No illegal, immoral, pornographic activities and hate mongering will be permitted. If found, the account will be suspended without notice and no refunds will be permissible. Any dispute with us is subject to the jurisdiction of courts in Chennai, TN, India.
